Roots to Launch was founded on a simple belief: young adults with disabilities deserve meaningful employment opportunities and strong community connections in the place they call home.
For many individuals with disabilities, the transition out of high school can be challenging. After graduation, and especially after age 21, access to structured programs that support skill development, social engagement, and personal growth often disappears. Families are left searching for opportunities that allow their loved ones to continue learning, contributing, and building fulfilling lives.
In Lake Oswego, the need for meaningful employment opportunities for young adults with disabilities is significant. Too often, talented and motivated individuals must leave their community to find work programs or services elsewhere, making it difficult to maintain friendships, independence, and a sense of belonging.
